MAKE KANSAS & JOHNSON COUNTY A MAGNET FOR NEW JOBS

Our Priority:

Keep taxes low to encourage economic growth & job creation, and streamline regulations to make Kansas a business friendly state and destination.

OUR RESULTS:

More than 80,000 new private sector jobs have been created, with strong growth in Johnson Co. We updated and reformed unemployment insurance and workers compensation programs to be both business and worker friendly. Kansas has set three straight record years of new business formations – more than 15,000 in 2015 alone.
Kansas previously was the 2nd highest tax state in the region. Today, we are the 2nd lowest. New property tax reforms take effect in 2017, requiring a public vote on property tax increases exceeding the rate of inflation. Additionally, I championed reforms to the tax appeal process to put the burden of proof on the state, not the taxpayer, and to allow taxpayers to take their case to court.
